PayPoint Mobile and Online has expanded its presence in Essex with the launch of PayByPhone in 11 carparks operated by Rochford District Council.
Rochford Council has joined nearby Chelmsford, which has been operating PayByPhone for just over a year. PayByPhone has proved very popular with motorists and commuters in Chelmsford.
“One of the key factors in selecting PayPoint’s PayByPhone service was the number of locally registered users in Chelmsford, coupled with an impressive four million registered users across the whole of the UK, many of which are located in the south east,” commented Joanne Crawford, transportation manager for Rochford District Council.
“Another key factor in our decision making process was the confidence we drew from PayByPhone having the financial strength and technology of PayPoint, a major UK business, behind it, enabling it to guarantee us the level of ongoing support and future proofing of the service that both the council and our motorists demand.
”PayByPhone is the UK’s leading specialist phone parking service, offering the widest and most innovative range of phone parking payments, including NFC parking, QR codes, smartphone apps and cash payments in local PayPoint shops. PayPoint has recently rebranded the PayByPhone and online payments side of its business to become one distinct operation, trading as PayPoint Mobile and Online. However, PayByPhone will continue to be the B2C brand that consumers recognise on high streets and car parks all over the UK.
Mark Astbury, Sales Director at PayPoint Mobile and Online, added: “The fact that Rochford Council has chosen us for cashless parking services is great news because it demonstrates how our innovative payment methods give councils the flexibility to deliver a great customer experience and make valuable savings at the same time. As a PayPoint company,we are able to offer a ready-made, proven and long-term solution for payments that no other parking provider can offer.”
