PayByPhone Launches New Vehicle Servicing Feature: Trusted Garages and Pre-Negotiated Rates, All in One App

PayByPhone, has launched the latest in its range of new features that take the complexity out of everyday vehicle management with just a few clicks. The new vehicle Servicing feature, which complements the recently introduced MOT service, gives app users access to a network of thousands of garages across theUK through a new partnership with sister company’s 1link Service.

1link is trusted by businesses managing over 4 million vehicles, processing more than £1 billion inservice, maintenance and repair (SMR) transactions annually. The new PayByPhone feature integrates the extensive 1link network direct into the consumer app, bringing the same benefits and cost savings enjoyed by large companies directly to UK drivers.

Benefits of the new vehicle Servicing feature include:

Access to an expanding network of garage options across the UK, typically within 10 miles of a user’s location*, including trusted leading UK brands and independent local garages.

Pre-negotiated rates, offering lower pricing than walk-ins, along with discounts on labour and parts for users. There’s no need to negotiate over the phone - simply book through the app to benefit from the best rates.

A commitment to expert reviews for all quotes for extra work or repairs, conducted by in-house specialists, with users able to approve them directly in-app, ensuring peace of mind that they’re receiving reliable and fair pricing

Free cancellations up to two hours before any booking**.

The vehicle servicing feature is easily accessible from the home page of the PayByPhone app, directing users to ‘My Cars’ to input mileage information. From there, users can view available service options starting from £139*. They can select their preferred garage and up to three available dates for the service, along with providing payment details for the deposit. The garage will confirm the booking by the next working day, and the deposit will be charged 48 hours before the selected drop-off date. During the booking process, the garage will inspect the vehicle and provide a quote for any additional work. Once the quote is approved, the deposit will be deducted from the final cost.

In addition, users will also have access to information about booking their MOT – a new feature launched last year  – that allows them to book and pay directly within the app up to 30 days before expiry, starting from just £35*.

Later in 2025, app users will be able to combine their vehicle Service and MOT into a handy one-stop garage booking. As part of this process, PayByPhone’s in-house experts will also review extra work or repairs, to be approved in-app.

PayByPhone’s vehicleService and MOT tools are powered by the 1link Service network from epyx. All companies are owned by Corpay Inc.

** A deposit is required to secure a booking. The remaining balance will be quoted during the vehicle inspection. The deposit will be charged 48 hours before the selected drop-off date. Free cancellation is available up to two hours before a booking. During the booking, the chosen garage will inspect the vehicle and provide a service price. Once the required work has been approved, the deposit will be deducted from the final cost.
